Part of the World Tree, Yggdrasil.

Colored pencil on bristol paper

The original has a green border around the outside which doesn't add anything to the image, I just did it to fill up the white space outside the image I had drawn and decided to leave it out of the scan.

I've always intended to paint this and have done a few studies in oil to try to get the effect I want, but I still don't have it quite right.

I see blood vessels in the brain when I look at this after I've drawn it.

thank you! i've always been into mixing deep and highly contrasting colors, more recently in paintings, i like waking up the eyeballs with bright color, fun to look at.
